Ahead of the release of her third studio album, \u201cYou Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love<\/a><\/strong>,\u201d Olivia Rodrigo has released her new single \u201cThe Cure,\u201d along with its official music video.<\/p>\n

Rodrigo announced the release on Instagram on Friday, May 22, writing: \u201cTHE CURE SONG AND VIDEO IS OUT NOW!!!!! this song means so much to me and I\u2019m so so so happy that it\u2019s out in the world!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Filipino-American pop star also thanked longtime collaborator Dan Nigro for producing and co-writing the track, as well as music video directors Bead Lizard and Cat Solen.<\/p>\n

Rodrigo described \u201cThe Cure\u201d as the \u201cthesis statement\u201d of her forthcoming album, adding that the song \u201cmade the whole album click for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

The music video, released alongside the track, shows Rodrigo unraveling emotionally while searching for relief from heartbreak and confusion.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Cure\u201d serves as the second single from \u201cYou Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,\u201d which is scheduled for release on June 12, a date that coincides with Independence Day in the Philippines.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The upcoming album follows Rodrigo\u2019s 2023 sophomore record \u201cGuts\u201d and her breakout debut \u201cSour.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last month, Rodrigo released the album\u2019s lead single \u201cDrop Dead,\u201d which debuted at No. 1 and featured a music video filmed inside the Palace of Versailles in France.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Grammy-winning singer also recently appeared on Saturday Night Live, where she performed \u201cDrop Dead\u201d and debuted another track titled \u201cBegged.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
