OGUNQUIT, Maine \u2014 Ogunquit Pride<\/a> will once again take center stage this June, with a full week of events planned from Monday, June 1, through Sunday, June 7, to celebrate the town\u2019s LGBTQ+ community and its long history as an inclusive destination.<\/p>\n\n

The festivities begin June 1 at MaineStreet Ogunquit<\/a>, which will host a Pride flag\u2011raising and community barbecue from 5 to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

Throughout the week, entertainment venues across town will offer drag shows, live music, karaoke, and LGBTQ+ film screenings.<\/p>\n

Pride happy hour at M.C. Perkins Cove, art exhibit and more<\/h2>\n

The weekend kicks off Friday, June 5, in Perkins Cove, where businesses will host a series of Pride\u2011themed events.<\/p>\n\n

The afternoon begins with the unveiling of Meredith Reynells\u2019 “Love is Love” art exhibit at Maine Art Collective<\/a> at 4 p.m. The show honors diversity and inclusion within and beyond the LGBTQ+ community.<\/p>\n

Additional activities include a Pride happy hour at M.C. Perkins Cove<\/a>, a book signing at Perkins Cove Book Shop<\/a>, and special sales at Perkins Cove Pottery Shop<\/a> and Kiki\u2019s<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Pride flag-raising ceremony, Picnic in the Park<\/h2>\n

The town\u2019s signature Pride flag\u2011raising ceremony will be held Saturday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m. at Veterans Park.<\/p>\n

Emceed by Blake of Maine\u2019s Coast 93.1, the event will feature speakers, music, and the raising of the Pride flag, followed by a parade to Dorothea Jacobs Grant Common. The procession will include vintage cars, music by the Ideal Maine Band<\/a>, and community members carrying the River of Pride flag<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Celebrations continue at Grant Common with Picnic in the Park from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., featuring live music by Lee Ross and entertainment from DJ Don. LGBTQ+ vendors and allies will offer programs, products, and services, and food trucks will be on site.<\/p>\n

Ogunquit businesses show their pride<\/h2>\n

On Sunday, June 7, Nikanos Mediterranean Bar & Grille<\/a> will once again host its popular Drag Brunch at noon.<\/p>\n

Additional Pride\u2011themed events will take place throughout June, including a Pride Dinner at Perkins Cove Kitchen<\/a> on Friday from 4 to 9 p.m., a Pride Brunch there on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a Pride Pool Party at the Abalonia Inn<\/a> on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Ogunquit Chamber of Commerce<\/a> is also expanding its outreach this year, inviting all local businesses \u2014 members and non\u2011members \u2014 to share their Pride\u2011related plans in the spirit of communitywide inclusion.<\/p>\n\n
