It’s the second single for a speculated upcoming album<\/p>\n
Charli XCX<\/a> has released her new single \u2018SS26\u2019 alongside an accompanying music video. The track arrives just three weeks after her previous release, \u2018Rock Music\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n Both tracks are widely expected to feature on an upcoming album, although no official announcement has been made. Musically, the new material marks a noticeable departure from the sound of her 2024 album Brat<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u2018SS26\u2019 was co-produced by Charli XCX, A. G. Cook and Finn Keane, longtime collaborators who have worked together on several previous projects. Cook also played a significant role in Charli\u2019s remix album Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat<\/em>.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, Charli XCX shared the song\u2019s lyrics through her Substack newsletter, revealing that the title \u2018SS26\u2019 stands for \u201cSpring\/Summer 2026\u201d. A reference commonly used in the fashion industry to denote seasonal collections.<\/p>\n The accompanying music video sees Charli XCX walking through a Paris fashion show. It was directed by Torso, the creative team behind the video for \u2018Von Dutch\u2019.<\/p>\n \u2018SS26\u2019 and ‘Rock Music’ are not Charli XCX\u2019s first release this year. In January, she contributed to the soundtrack of the film adaptation of Wuthering Heights<\/em><\/a> and also released her mockumentary The Moment<\/em>, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival.<\/p>\n Her biggest success to date remains Brat<\/em>. The album became a cultural phenomenon upon its release in 2024, topping charts around the world, including reaching number 1 on the Irish Albums Chart.<\/p>\n
