Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith is having an incredible prolific moment. Last year she released two albums \u2014 GUSH<\/a> <\/em>and Thoughts On The Future<\/a><\/em>. Not even six months later and she’s come back in full fucking force. Smith has announced another album titled Ruin: It’s Not Just Music<\/em>, which she described on social media as “a f#%* you album. Not to you \u2014 but for you.” I love this concept \u2014 exactly what I need for this world. She clarified: “This is not ambient. 174bpm .” The announcement comes with the single “Ruin,” which is stealthy and cool as hell.<\/p>\n \u201cI realised I needed to make something confrontational, almost like sonic combat,\u201d Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith said in a press release. \u201cNot a \u2018fuck you\u2019 aimed at anyone in particular, but a record that creates space for catharsis. I wanted the music to feel physical and direct, something that releases tension as much as it creates it.\u201d<\/p>\n She added that:\u00a0\u201cRuin\u00a0lives in that moment where everything breaks and something else asserts itself.
