(NewsNation<\/a>) \u2014 Prince William<\/a> shared new details about his wife, Kate Middleton<\/a>\u2018s recovery following her cancer treatment, saying she is slowly returning to royal duties after what he described as \u201ca lot\u201d of difficult months for their family.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking during a U.K. radio interview with Heart Breakfast<\/a>, William praised the Princess of Wales as an \u201camazing mum\u201d and \u201can amazing wife,\u201d adding the family \u201ccouldn\u2019t cope without her.\u201d<\/p>\n The Prince of Wales said he was \u201cso very, very proud\u201d of Kate after her recent overseas trip to Italy \u2014 her first major international engagement since completing treatment.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m really glad it went really well,\u201d William said, adding Kate had been looking forward to the trip for her childhood development project and was eager to continue working.<\/p>\n Kate Middleton says she doesn\u2019t drink much alcohol since cancer diagnosis <\/a><\/p>\n \u201cShe wanted to go and do lots of research.\u00a0She spends, God knows how much time now, looking through all the paperwork. She\u2019s a proper pro on early years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n William said the family is still balancing Kate\u2019s return to public life as she continues her recovery.<\/p>\n \u201cI think she\u2019s just edging herself back into doing more and more of those trips,\u201d he said. \u201cAway trips like that take a lot out of you because you\u2019re on sort of permanent receive and send the whole time. So, we have to balance that, make sure she\u2019s okay and rested. But yeah, she\u2019s in good form.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the challenges, William said Kate returned from the trip energized and \u201cbuzzing.\u201d<\/p>\n Kate revealed in March\u00a02024\u00a0that she was\u00a0diagnosed with cancer<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0was undergoing chemotherapy.
