Stewart McLean, 45, an actor who appeared in one episode of Virgin River<\/a><\/em>, was found dead one week after he went missing.<\/p>\n On Friday, May 22, Canada\u2019s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) announced that McLean\u2019s body was found in the Lions Bay area, according to a new release obtained by People<\/a>. It noted that his disappearance is believed to be an \u201cisolated incident.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAs the investigation continues to unfold, homicide investigators are working to collect and analyze evidence, review CCTV footage, and conduct interviews to build a timeline of Mr. McLean\u2019s activities prior to May 15, 2026,\u201d IHIT Cpl. Esther Tupper said in a statement. \u201cWe are pursuing all available leads as we work to find answers for the family, friends, and loved ones of Mr. McLean.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n On May 21, the Squamish Royal Canadian Mounted Police (Squamish RCMP) announced<\/a> that McLean was potentially a murder victim.<\/p>\n \u201cSquamish RCMP<\/abbr> initiated an investigation and, through investigative efforts, uncovered evidence that led investigators to believe Mr. McLean was [a] victim of homicide,\u201d a news release detailed. \u201cOn May 20, IHIT deployed and assumed conduct of the investigation. Squamish RCMP<\/abbr> continues to work closely with IHIT and the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) to advance the investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n McLean was last seen at his home in Lions Bay, British Columbia, on May 15.
