Kristina Head recalled the tragic loss of her boyfriend, Todd Hight, while pregnant with their first child in ID’s Hollywood Demons: Surviving 16 & Pregnant<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Head initially hesitated to join 16 & Pregnant,<\/em> but ultimately agreed despite her grief and personal challenges<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n She has since married husband TJ Head<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Kristina Head never imagined sharing her life story on reality TV.<\/p>\n The teenager was already grappling with some tough realities at home when she started dating boyfriend Todd Hight. While he served as her escape, things got very real for the young couple when they learned they were expecting a baby together.<\/p>\n The couple decided to apply to MTV’s 16 & Pregnant<\/em>, but as Head describes in ID’s Hollywood Demons: Surviving 16 & Pregnant<\/em>, life’s twists and turns continued coming at the couple, who hoped their stint on reality TV would help them provide for their young family.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t think we were going to get picked. I didn\u2019t think we had enough trauma and there were things I knew I wasn\u2019t going to share on camera,” Head, now 32, said.<\/p>\n Kristina on ’16 & Pregnant’ Head, then Kristina Robinson, was already in talks with producers to be on the show when she and Hight went on vacation with friends, but tragedy changed her life forever.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was the first vacation I\u2019ve ever been on in my entire life. I was maybe 12 weeks pregnant, maybe a little further along,” she remembered. “We all went out in the water and my friend looked back at me and said, \u2018Don\u2019t come any further or you\u2019re going to get caught in the rip tide.\u2019 But at that point, I was caught up in it.”<\/p>\n “I blacked out,” she continued. “And then I remember the lifeguard coming and yelling. I had salt water in my lungs. They were trying to find a heartbeat for the baby. I was looking around and Todd wasn\u2019t there.”<\/p>\n While Head was recovering in the hospital, she learned that Todd hadn’t been recovered from the rip tide.<\/p>\n “I remember they called the Coast Guard to start looking, and a few days later, we got the phone call that the cleanup crew had found him,” she tearfully shared.<\/p>\n Filming the MTV series was the furthest thing from her mind after coping with the idea of raising her baby alone. “When all that was happening, you were just focusing on being pregnant and having this baby and hoping nothing happens to the baby, because that\u2019s all you have left,” she noted.<\/p>\n “I called the producer I had and told them he had passed away, and I probably won\u2019t do it anymore now. It was almost immediate that they were like, \u2018We want you,'” she recalled.<\/p>\n Ultimately, she agreed to move forward with her decision. But before her episode even aired, she realized the harsh downsides of reality TV when she saw her and Todd’s photos on the cover of a magazine during a trip to the supermarket.<\/p>\n
