Beth McDermott<\/span> Jazz pianist Elliot Steger and his Trio have a date early next month at the Parish Center for the Arts in Westford<\/a>.<\/p>\n Steger, a local jazz pianist and composer<\/a>, will bring his Trio back to the PCA at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, according to a community announcement. Doors open at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln St. venue. Food and drink are welcome.<\/p>\n Steger started formal classical piano lessons at age 4. But when it was time to decide whether to pursue a career in music or in the sciences, he chose a day job as a physician, according to the announcement.<\/p>\n At about age 30, Steger began what became 20 years of lessons from a Berklee College of Music<\/a> professor. He started composing and performing more, and is now credited with multiple CDs and more than 100 song compositions, according to the announcement.<\/p>\n Steger was the featured artist on radio station WICN\u2019s Jazz New England program<\/a> and was a finalist for best jazz instrumental song of the year. His music can be found on Spotify, Amazon Music and YouTube.<\/p>\n For the June 6 performance, Steger will be joined by Jon Hazilla, a professor at the Berklee College of Music and performer at numerous International Jazz festivals, on drums; and David Landoni, a music professor at UMass Boston who has toured internationally including performing with the Artie Shaw Orchestra, on acoustic bass, according to the announcement.<\/p>\n Tickets for the June 6 show are $20 in advance for members; $22 for non-members; and $25 at the door, if available.
