Carson Daly, co-host of Today<\/em>, is opening up about his unique relationship with his 13-year-old daughter Etta.<\/p>\n Daly, who is also the host of The Voice<\/em>, shares four children with his wife of over 10 years, Siri Pinter. In addition to Etta, they include Jack, 17, London, 11, and Goldie, 6.<\/p>\n While appearing on a segment of Today With Jenna and Sheinelle <\/em>on Monday, Daly revealed that he rarely speaks to his daughter Etta. However, it is not for the reason that many may think.<\/p>\n \u201cI have a 13-year-old, Etta, who is doing great, who I never speak with,\u201d he said. \u201cDo you speak 13-year-old? Obsess.<\/a><\/p>\n While there is no conflict between the father and daughter, Daly has found that he and his daughter have a preferred way of communicating with one another rather than speaking face to face at this point in life. That preferred method is through the popular app Snapchat.<\/p>\n Daly shared a recent photo of Etta after receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Catholic Church.<\/p>\n \u201cThere she is, Confirmed \u2026 so, she\u2019s in God\u2019s hands now,\u201d he said, drawing a laugh from the audience.<\/p>\n He then explained why he has found Snapchat to be the most effective way to communicate with his daughter.<\/p>\n \u201cYou ever hear that phrase, \u2018You\u2019ve got to meet kids where they are?\u2019 You hear it in business a lot, right? They want to advertise, get in front of them,\u201d he explained. \u201cI\u2019ve taken a page out of that, and six months ago, I did join Snapchat,\u201d he continued. \u201cI have literally communicated with my daughter, in particular, more via Snapchat than I have in real life.\u201d<\/p>\n Daly\u2019s communication with his daughter involves a lot of emojis, rather than an in-depth conversation. However, he expressed that he\u2019s happy to take what he can get.<\/p>\n \u201cI can say, \u2018Are you okay?\u2019 And then I\u2019ll put some stupid emoji,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd she\u2019ll write back, like, \u2018LOL,\u2019 and all these little things are flying all over the screen.
