Tiger Woods returned to social media on Memorial Day with an emotional tribute to his late father, Earl Woods. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy father was a Special Forces operator with two tours in Vietnam and 20 years of service,\u201d the golf legend wrote via Instagram Stories Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo all those like my father, we all say thank you for your sacrifices,\u201d he continued. \u201cWithout them we wouldn\u2019t have the greatest country on earth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tiger\u2019s girlfriend, Vanessa Trump<\/a>, re-shared the message on her personal account. <\/p>\n

Earl \u2014 who famously coached his son to a historic career in golf \u2014 passed away 20 years ago in May 2006 from a heart attack. He was 74.<\/p>\n
