Spencer Pratt’s<\/a> bid for mayor of Los Angeles<\/a> has Hollywood divided.<\/p>\n From actors and comedians to other reality TV stars, several big-name celebrities have reacted to Pratt’s<\/a> foray into politics.<\/p>\n While some, like several of Pratt’s<\/a> former costars on “The Hills,”<\/a> have supported the 42-year-old’s candidacy, other famous faces have publicly disapproved.<\/p>\n Pratt<\/a>, who is running as a Republican<\/a>, will look to unseat incumbent Mayor Karen Bass in the June 2 election. To win the race next week, one candidate will need to get a majority of the votes. If not, the two candidates with the most votes will face each other in the November general election.<\/p>\n Here’s a look at some celebrities who have spoken out about Pratt’s run.<\/p>\n Several of Pratt’s former “The Hills” costars, including his longtime friend Brody Jenner<\/a>, have thrown their support behind his mayoral candidacy.<\/p>\n After Pratt announced his run in January, Jenner posted a lengthy Instagram statement<\/a> defending his friend, saying he’s “one of the smartest people I’ve ever met.”<\/p>\n “Spencer isn\u2019t afraid to think differently or speak up, and that\u2019s exactly what this city needs,” he wrote. “He has my vote, because at the very least, he has the backbone to stand up to career politicians who\u2019ve done little to actually move Los Angeles forward.”<\/p>\n Similarly, Kristin Cavallari called Pratt “very well-spoken” during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live”<\/a> in April.<\/p>\n “I’m here for it. And I honestly could see him winning. People in California really are excited about him,” she said.<\/p>\n Another ex-castmate, Audrina Patridge,<\/a> told Us Weekly<\/a> earlier this month that she’s “rooting for” Pratt.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m actually excited. He impressed me,” she told the outlet, adding that Pratt “is very intelligent.”<\/p>\n “I think that he would make a lot of change to L.A. and he would follow through with what he said,” she continued.<\/p>\n “The Price Is Right” host Drew Carey<\/a> did not mince words about Pratt’s run for mayor.<\/p>\n “I understand being angry\/unsatisfied, but at least get behind someone competent and not some serial scammer without a soul or moral compass,” the comedian wrote in an expletive-laced post on Threads<\/a> on May 22.<\/p>\n Pratt responded to the criticism in a May 25 post on X<\/a>, sharing a screenshot of a 2002 email mentioning a Drew Carey that is included in the Department of Justice’s investigative files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Isn’t it weird how the two comedians histrionically lashing out against me are both in the ‘Epstein files’? What are the odds?” Pratt wrote.<\/p>\n In a May 15 Instagram video<\/a>, comedian Chelsea Handler<\/a> criticized Pratt and compared him to President Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n “This is a reminder that a straight, white male, former reality star that has no previous experience in government should not be a legitimate political candidate,” Handler said as photos of Pratt appeared on the screen.<\/p>\n She added, “Have we learned anything yet?” while showing a photo of Trump.<\/p>\n Pratt responded in an X post, which included a video of comedian Shane Gillis discussing how Handler once said she had dinner with Epstein<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Most of you have probably never heard of Chelsea Handler, so here\u2019s an introduction!” Pratt wrote.<\/p>\n Former star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Lisa Rinna<\/a> said she thinks Pratt is “amazing,” however, not quite fit for mayor.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m sorry. I love him, but we’ve already done that, we’re not going to do that again,” she told Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m a reality person.
