You can hear all her discoveries live on 88Nine at 10 p.m. every Monday on <\/i>What\u2019s All This: Adventures in New Music<\/u><\/b><\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n Babehoven is the Hudson, New York-based project of Maya Bon and Ryan Albert, who recorded new single \u201cBlue Around You\u201d in some curiously named spaces upstate: The Chicken Shack and 12 Lb Genius.<\/p>\n Famed \u201cless is more\u201d producer Phil Weinrobe (who famously worked with Big Thief) helped capture the band\u2019s twangy, indie folk rock energy that\u2019s full of sweet pensiveness, and added a few new layers. A fleet of musical friends aided those efforts, creating a genuine and homey appeal.<\/p>\n To capture the song\u2019s true nature, it was recorded live with no playback or headphones, with the feel of the room being as much an instrument as the fiddle that threads the song together.
