Dorit Kemsley<\/strong><\/a> is looking back at the difficult way she found out about her separation from estranged husband Paul \u201cPK\u201d Kemsley<\/strong><\/a> after 10 years of marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cPK, he had gotten sober. He was four months sober. He was really committed, felt like this was something that was overdue,\u201d the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/em> star, 49, said during the Tuesday, May 26, episode of the \u201cLadyGang\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n

Dorit continued, \u201cHe had a sponsor because it was a journey of sobriety, and he had a sober coach, if you will. You go through steps [in the] process. I mean, there\u2019s all kinds of things that anyone that\u2019s been through sobriety knows, and he was working on those things with him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dorit recalled sitting down with PK, 58, and his sober coach in her backyard cabana.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis sober coach says, \u2018Listen, I think you guys should maybe take some time apart and separate.\u2019 And I remember immediately looking at PK, expecting him to be like, \u2018Hey,\u2019 something. And he was just absolutely dead silent, like sort of looking off to the side,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

The reality star added, \u201cHe put it off on someone else to deliver the information to me, and he was dead silent the whole time. Just looked off into the gates and let this sober coach essentially let me know that we\u2019re separating.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dorit said the fact that she wasn\u2019t hearing about the separation from PK himself was \u201calmost harder than the actual news itself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dorit and PK confirmed their separation<\/a> in May 2024 amid rumors that they had split.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe as a couple have been subject to a lot of speculation about our marriage,\u201d the exes, who share son Jagger, 12, and daughter Phoenix, 11, wrote via Instagram.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDorit Kemsley is breaking down how much of a hold PK Kemsley\u2019s former sobriety sponsor had on their relationship \u2014 and how it impacted her trip to Oceanside. \u201cA couple of months into our separation, PK felt that [the sponsor] overstepped,\u201d Dorit, 48, shared during the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: After Show on Tuesday, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The statement continued, \u201cWe have had our struggles over the last few years and continue to work through them as two people who love each other and share two amazing children together. To safeguard our deep friendship and maintain a harmonious environment for our children we have made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart and reevaluate our relationship while we prioritize our children. We appreciate your love and support while we continue to do the work necessary throughout this journey.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dorit filed for divorce nearly one year later, citing irreconcilable differences. She requested sole legal and physical custody of the kids and asked for spousal support. In a response to the filing, PK waived his right to spousal support and asked the court to terminate Dorit\u2019s spousal support request. He also requested that both parties cover their own attorney fees.<\/p>\n

At BravoCon in November 2025, Dorit exclusively opened up to Us Weekly<\/em> about coparenting with PK.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to be able to prioritize our children,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m hoping that at some point things will become a little bit less challenging.\u201d<\/p>\n

PK also opened up about their split<\/a> during an April appearance on the \u201cWe Need to Talk\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n
