In a 2021 interview with Vulture<\/a>, Rosie O\u2019Donnell took a firm stance against the pressure women face to alter their appearance, criticizing the entertainment industry\u2019s obsession with youth and perfection.<\/p>\n \u201cI wasn\u2019t going to have plastic surgery. I was going to look the way a woman my age should look, and I always thought that would be a blessing in my older age,\u201d she told the publication.<\/p>\n However, in recent social posts, Rosie O\u2019Donnell explained why she ultimately changed her mind and revealed the personal circumstances that led to that decision, opening up about the emotional and physical journey behind her new perspective on cosmetic procedures.<\/p>\n In an honest and open post on Instagram<\/a> and Substack<\/a> on May 25 titled \u201cdecisions,\u201d the former daytime host and comedian shared a poetic, emotional essay written in stanza style about her choice to undergo the surgery, explaining that her recent weight loss ultimately led to the decision, although it caused significant inner conflict in her life.<\/p>\n \u201cI used to feel very strongly about facelifts I thought it was a betrayal.
