Dame Julie Andrews<\/a> has made a rare public appearance to raise awareness of Parkinson\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n

In a video released by the World Parkinson Coalition on Sunday (24 May), the actor, 90, spoke about the importance of continuing efforts to find a cure for the disease as she welcomed attendees to the seventh World Parkinson\u2019s Congress.<\/p>\n

“Your participation is invaluable, as we seek to find a cure to this terrible disease. I know well how devastating it can be,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay we all become a beacon of light to stop it in its tracks,\u201d Dame Julie, who has largely taken a step back from the public eye, added. She provides the voiceover for Lady Whistledown in Netflix\u2019s <\/a>Bridgerton<\/em><\/a>series.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
