As a child of teenage parents, Bobby Bones<\/strong><\/a> was unsure what his own future family would look like \u2014 especially when it came to the possibility of becoming a parent.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, yeah I didn\u2019t know if I would ever become a dad. I didn\u2019t know if I would ever get married,\u201d the two-time New York Times<\/em> bestselling author, 46, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on Tuesday, May 26, revealing that becoming a father has brought up \u201craw emotions\u201d from his own upbringing.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t meet my wife until I was almost 40, so I thought it would be nice to have a kid someday, but there was a point where I thought I\u2019m not going to get married, not going to have a kid, and that\u2019s OK,\u201d Bones told Us<\/em> while discussing his podcast, Bobby Bones Presents: The BOBBYCAST<\/em>, now airing on Netflix.<\/p>\n

Bobby and his wife, Caitlin<\/strong>, welcomed their first child, daughter Billie Celine Estell, on March 20. The couple tied the knot in July 2021 during a romantic ceremony held in the backyard of their Nashville, Tennessee, home. They got engaged in October 2020 after first meeting on the Dancing with the Stars<\/em><\/a> set in 2019. (Bobby won the season 27 Mirrorball Trophy<\/a> in 2018.)<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBobby Bones is pulling back the curtain and sharing some of his most well-kept financial secrets behind his successful career. In a candid discussion with Bachelor Nation\u2019s Jason Tartick, the Dancing With the Stars alum recalled spending $12,000 of his own money on two billboards. \u201cI bought the two biggest billboards in the middle of [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI definitely didn\u2019t want to have a kid and not be able to afford a kid, because that was a lot of what had happened with me as a kid,\u201d he explained. \u201dWe didn\u2019t have a lot, so we got a little older, had a little more success, found the right person, and now it\u2019s just I start to think, like, man, \u2018How can you leave a kid?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Bobby\u2019s parents split when he was around 5 years old and his biological father, who was 17 when Bobby was born, remained out of the picture. He was cared for primarily by his mother before his grandmother later adopted and raised him, although he did write about briefly reuniting with his dad in his 2018 book, Fail Until You Don\u2019t: Fight. Grind. Repeat<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The NFL Network \u201cLots to Say\u201d podcast host said that his journey to fatherhood has brought back some memories from his own past, noting it \u201cbrings up a lot of like weird newly raw emotions that I didn\u2019t expect to have<\/a>, but I\u2019m glad I have them, because again, it means I\u2019m thinking about it<\/a>, I care, I\u2019m being proactive.\u201d<\/p>\n
