So it bought it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWheelhouse has acquired <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/anomaly-entertainment\/\" id=\"auto-tag_anomaly-entertainment_1\" data-tag=\"anomaly-entertainment\">Anomaly Entertainment<\/a>, which was founded in 2017 by producers and former Discovery Channel commissioners\u00a0Matthew Kelly\u00a0and\u00a0Michael Sorensen. Anomaly has produced 40 <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/shark-week\/\" id=\"auto-tag_shark-week_1\" data-tag=\"shark-week\">Shark Week<\/a> shows (<em>Shaq Does Shark\u00a0Week<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Great White Abyss<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Jaws Awakens<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Legend of Deep Blue<\/em>,<em>\u00a0Jackass Shark Week<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Shark Trip: Eat, Pray, Chum<\/em>, etc.) over the previous nine years; in addition to Discovery, Anomaly has created content for TLC, ID, HGTV, Food Network, Netflix, HBO Max, ESPN+ and NFL Films.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAnomaly is currently producing <em>KPop Shark Heroes<\/em>\u00a0starring\u00a0Ken Jeong (<em>Community<\/em>) and Rei Ami (<em>KPop Demon Hunters<\/em>).\u00a0Its non-shark programming includes <em>Rob Riggle: Global Investigator<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch, Caught!<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Visitors<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Code of the Wild<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Battle of the Beards<\/em>, <em>McEnroe\u2019s Places\u00a0<\/em>and <em>Extraordinary Stories Behind Everyday Things<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cFew folks in our world have had the success that Matt and Mike have on both sides of the aisle, buyers and sellers,\u201d said Wheelhouse CEO Brent Montgomery. \u201cWe see not just a great cultural fit, especially with\u00a0their\u00a0broad work with athletes, entertainers and creators, but\u00a0also\u00a0new muscles brought to the Wheelhouse ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cAnomaly was looking for a partner that could help us scale and grow strategically for the future, and for us to land at Wheelhouse is a full circle moment,\u201d Kelly and Sorensen in a joint statement. \u201cWe\u2019ve known Brent a long time and, for us, not only did he and Wheelhouse recognize the value of the business we\u2019ve created, but they also saw synergy in our vision, which is to produce content that elevates talent, especially today\u2019s leading creators and sports figures, and tell their stories in exciting, authentic ways.
