Virgin River<\/em><\/a> actor Stewart McLean<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s final text message and last movements before he went missing have been revealed, weeks after he was found dead at the age of 41.<\/p>\n

McLean\u2019s close friend Jeff Seymour<\/strong> broke down his final moments in a new interview with The Daily Mail<\/em><\/a>, confirming that McLean\u2019s last text was sent to his agent about an upcoming work shoot on the evening of May 15.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had a very normal day from what I understood,\u201d Seymour, an acting coach, told the outlet on Tuesday, May 26. \u201cHe had a four-hour drive home and he left at around seven. He arrived home that night, [his] car [was] in the driveway.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seymour revealed, \u201cThe last communication came from his phone that evening, and then everything just went dark.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seymour said he learned of McLean\u2019s final message after the actor failed to turn up to his scheduled day of filming on May 16. At the time, McLean\u2019s agent reached out to Seymour and recounted their final text conversation.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had confirmed he would be there the next day [on] Friday when he was last heard from,\u201d Seymour shared. \u201cWhen I heard that he didn\u2019t show up for that, I knew we were in serious trouble. Because, show business, you know, the show must go on, it is unheard of for an actor not to show up.\u201d<\/p>\n

McLean, who appeared on season 7 of Virgin River<\/em><\/a>, was reported missing on May 18 after last being seen at his home in Lions Bay, British Columbia, Canada, on May 15.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tStewart \u201cStew\u201d McLean was best known for appearing in Virgin River before his disappearance and death made headlines in May 2026. On May 18, 2026, McLean was reported missing to the Squamish Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) after last being seen at his Lions Bay, British Columbia home three days prior. Three days after McLean\u2019s [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Squamish RCMP initially treated McLean as a missing persons case<\/a>, asking the public for help in locating him.<\/p>\n

The Lions Bays Search and Rescue led an initial search for him, but on Thursday, May 21, the police announced that the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team were taking over the search. The case was then deemed a possible homicide as authorities continued to look for the actor.<\/p>\n

McLean\u2019s remains were found<\/a> on Friday, May 22, in the Lions Bay area, Canada\u2019s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) announced in a press release.<\/p>\n

Lucas Talent Inc. confirmed McLean\u2019s death that same day in a statement shared by talent agent Jodi Caplan<\/strong> via Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As McLean\u2019s death continues to be investigated<\/a>, his friend Seymour is trying to wrap his head around the sudden loss.<\/p>\n
