Criminal Minds: Evolution<\/em><\/a> cast Connor Storrie<\/strong><\/a> in a season-long arc before he blew up \u2014 but is the show aiming to book his Heated Rivalry<\/em><\/a> costar Hudson Williams<\/strong><\/a> next?<\/p>\n

\u201cTrust me, we looked [into it],\u201d showrunner Erica Messer<\/strong> exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> ahead of the season 19 premiere on Thursday, May 28. \u201cWe were like, \u2018Is he available?’\u201d<\/p>\n

The idea didn\u2019t work out because Williams, 25, is too booked<\/a> and busy, with Messer adding, \u201cHe\u2019s shooting the second season of Heated Rivalry in August and that\u2019s when we would need them. We tried.\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on Rachel Reid<\/strong>\u2018s Game Changers<\/em> book series<\/a>, Heated Rivalry<\/em> follows two rival professional hockey players Shane Hollander (Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Storrie), whose animosity on the ice is just a front for a secret \u2014 and very passionate \u2014 romance.<\/p>\n

The show premiered on Crave in November 2025 before becoming available to an even wider audience through HBO Max earlier this year. Shortly after the first few episodes were released, book fans took to social media to show their support for the adaptation and both Williams and Storrie, 26, quickly became household names.<\/p>\n

Storrie, meanwhile, filmed scenes for season 19 of Criminal Minds<\/em><\/a> that turned into a multi-episode arc. Messer teased to Us that Storrie\u2019s character will play an important role when it comes to the villain of this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cConnor gets introduced in episode 4,\u201d she confirmed. \u201cHis story does have something to do with the big bad of the season but \u2014 without wanting too give much away \u2014 that\u2019s all I\u2019ll say.\u201d<\/p>\n

While looking ahead at the season<\/a>, Messer teased the vision for this installment.<\/p>\n
