If you\u2019ve not seen it, MobLand<\/i>, which is co-directed by Guy Ritchie, stars Tom as Harry Da Souza, a street-smart fixer who gets caught in the middle of a brutal rivalry between two crime families. It also stars A-listers, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n MobLand<\/i> premiered in March 2025, and the second season is expected to be released later this year. But, despite the show\u2019s success on streaming, its future may be in question due to alleged tensions between Tom and the producers.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n For context, Season 2 wrapped production<\/a> in March, and on May 22, Variety<\/a> reported that Tom \u201cwas not asked to return\u201d for an anticipated third season following an alleged behind-the-scenes dispute between him and executive producer Jez Butterworth, as well as individuals at 101 Studios, which produces the show. There was no direct confirmation from Tom\u2019s camp, nor from anyone on the show\u2019s side. But now, a new story from The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> has shed some more light on the reportedly messy situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Doubling down on rumors that Tom had been clashing with producers, THR cited a source who alleged that he disrupted filming by refusing \u201cto come out of his trailer for hours at a time.\u201d \u201cHe kept the cast waiting, [which is] a power play,\u201d the insider claimed. \u201cKeeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.\u201d As for what may have kept him in his trailer, Puck News<\/a> reported rumors that Tom was attempting to make script changes and provide notes to Butterworth and the show\u2019s creator, Ronan Bennett.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Interestingly, THR disputed previous reports that Tom had been officially fired<\/a>, but claimed that his allegedly tricky behavior had \u201cspooked producers into rethinking\u201d his future on the show, which is apparently yet to be greenlit for a third season.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Unfortunately, this wouldn\u2019t be the first time that Tom has been accused of behaving badly on a set. He famously feuded with Charlize Theron while they were starring together in Mad Max: Fury Road<\/i>, with Charlize previously saying that the tension between them was so intense she was left feeling unsafe<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n It has been suggested that the dispute between the actors was exacerbated by Tom\u2019s repeated tardiness on set. While discussing the well-documented feud<\/a> with the Telegraph<\/a> in 2024, Mad Max<\/i> director and co-creator George Miller said that Tom \u201chad to be coaxed out of his trailer\u201d on occasions.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Describing them as \u201ctwo very different performers,\u201d Miller said: \u201cTom has a damage to him but also a brilliance that comes with it\u2026whereas Charlize was incredibly disciplined \u2014 a dancer by training, which told in the precision of her performance \u2014 and always the first one on set. I\u2019m an optimist, so I saw their behavior as mirroring their characters, where they had to learn to cooperate in order to ensure mutual survival.
