Get ready for another generation of Hollywood stars<\/a> to emerge. Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin\u2019s daughter Apple, 22, has her first post-college job, and it\u2019s in the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t a small movie, either. Deadline announced<\/a> on May 18 that Apple was joining the cast of Nancy Meyers\u2019 first movie since 2015, Paris Paramount. The recent college graduate will be co-starring with some big names, including Pen\u00e9lope Cruz, Kieran Culkin, Jude Law, Owen Wilson, and Beverly D\u2019Angelo.<\/p>\n More from SheKnows<\/strong><\/p>\n Not only will this be Apple\u2019s film debut, but she will be working with the rom-com legend<\/a> who has written and directed fan-favorites The Holiday, Something\u2019s Gotta Give, and The Parent Trap. The movie is expected to be released in December 2027.<\/p>\n Gwyneth Paltrow at the 98th Annual Oscars held at Dolby Theatre on March 15, 2026 in Hollywood, California.<\/p>\n Still, not everyone is thrilled to see another Hollywood kid get cast in a film. \u201cThere\u2019s a good amount of eye rolling going on right now, as so many people are drawing the conclusion, quite understandably, that she\u2019s only there by virtue of her famous mom and family,\u201d a source told<\/a> Star Magazine of Apple\u2019s famous mom, dad<\/a>, grandmother Blythe Danner, and late grandfather TV producer Bruce Paltrow.<\/p>\n \u201cGwyneth is telling Apple to just show up and give her best performance, to prove the doubters wrong,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n Paltrow knows the uphill daughter will be facing, and she addressed it head-on during a May 27 Today show appearance.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s hard. It\u2019s a difficult road. But it\u2019s worth pursuing if that\u2019s their absolute truth,\u201d she said of her adult children\u2019s career choices, including son Moses, 19, who is pursuing music. She also advised them \u201cnot to read anything about themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n In an April 2025 feature<\/a> in Interview magazine, Apple revealed that she was not a drama major at Vanderbilt University. \u201cI\u2019m a law, history, and society major, but I wish I would\u2019ve taken\u2014maybe I\u2019ll take a theater course before I leave. It\u2019s a fun balance between my very different extracurriculars and my major,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Still, a career in entertainment was always an option for her. \u201cI would love to do theater because I adore it so much.
