Angelina Jolie<\/a> and Brad Pitt<\/a>\u2019s children have made it clear they want nothing to do with the F1 <\/em>actor. In fact, several of the kids have already dropped his last name<\/a>, the latest being their eldest, Maddox.<\/p>\n

In a May 28 report from TMZ<\/em><\/a>, it was revealed that Maddox filed to officially remove \u201cPitt\u201d from his surname, seeking to be known as Maddox Chivan Jolie. The request is still pending approval.<\/p>\n

A day later, a source told Us Weekly<\/a><\/em> that Pitt wishes his relationship with his children were different.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe feels most hurt out of everything that happened with Angie that his children don\u2019t want a public association with his last name,\u201d the source explained. \u201cIt\u2019s been very difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the ongoing tension, the source said that Pitt \u201cstill does hope and keeps the door open to eventual reconciliation, hopefully with all of them, but it is their decision. He has no power and he can\u2019t force them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pitt and Jolie share six children, and at least four have publicly distanced themselves from their father. Maddox\u2019s legal name change request follows reports that Zahara omitted \u201cPitt\u201d from her name during her Spelman College graduation ceremony. Pitt was not present at the event<\/a> and reportedly did not reach out to Zahara beforehand or attempt to get a ticket to attend the ceremony.<\/p>\n

Additionally, in May 2024, Vivienne was credited as \u201cVivienne Jolie\u201d in the Playbill for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical The Outsiders<\/em>. That same month, Shiloh\u2014born Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt\u2014legally changed her name to Shiloh Jolie on her 18th birthday.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Brad\u2019s] biggest fear is to be permanently disconnected from the kids because he does want to find a way to make things right,\u201d the insider explained to Us. \u201cHis biggest fear is that too much time is going by and the more time without something happening, the harder it will be to reconcile.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pitt previously admitted that he could be a better father to his and Jolie\u2019s kids, telling GQ<\/a> <\/em>in May 2017, \u201cI grew up with a Father-knows-best\/war mentality \u2014 the father is all-powerful, super strong \u2014 instead of really knowing the man and his own self-doubt and struggles. And it\u2019s hit me smack in the face with our divorce: I gotta be more. I gotta be more for them. I have to show them. And I haven\u2019t been great at it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople on their deathbeds don\u2019t talk about what they obtained or were awarded. They talk about their loved ones or their regrets \u2014 that seems to be the menu,\u201d he continued. \u201cI say that as someone who\u2019s let the work take me away. Kids are so delicate. They absorb everything. They need to have their hand held and things explained. They need to be listened to. When I get in that busy work mode, I\u2019m not hearing.
