Before news broke of Jenny Mollen<\/span><\/a><\/strong>\u2019s split from Jason Biggs<\/span><\/a><\/strong>, the actress recalled feeling like the \u201cspare\u201d in her own marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I got together with Jason, I always had a chip on my shoulder in the beginning because I felt like suddenly I went from being the oldest daughter and I felt like I had my s*** together and then suddenly, I married this guy who in a lot of ways \u2014 career wise \u2014 totally eclipsed me,\u201d Mollen, 46, shared on the Wednesday, May 27, episode of the \u201cWhat Matters With Liz<\/span><\/a>\u201d podcast. \u201cEverybody was like, \u2018Oh my God, Jason Biggs,\u2019 and I became the guest. And it drove me crazy to always just be, like, brushed to the side. To be the spare and not the heir.\u201d<\/p>\n

While chatting with Woman\u2019s World<\/i><\/span><\/a> Editor-in-Chief Liz Vaccariello<\/strong>, Mollen joked that she could relate to Prince Harry<\/strong>. The royal family member previously wrote a book titled Spare<\/i>, where he detailed his complicated relationship with Prince William<\/strong> and his extended family.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be the spare and not the heir,\u201d Mollen continued. \u201cIt was like, \u2018What is happening?\u2019 I was the spare. I was the American Pie<\/i> spare. I relate to Harry. That drove me mad and I always had this feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/i> confirmed on May 14 that Mollen and Biggs, 48, had separated after<\/span><\/a> 18 years of marriage.<\/p>\n

At the time, a rep for the pair said both parties remain on \u201cgreat terms\u201d and are committed to coparenting their sons, Sid, 12, and Lazlo, 8.<\/p>\n
