Joan Cusack is back in the spotlight.<\/p>\n
The two-time Academy award nominee made her first red carpet appearance since 2015 at the May 28 London premiere of \u201cToy Story 5.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cusack, who reprises her role in the film as the voice of the cowgirl toy Jessie, wore a long black skirt with a white button-down shirt and black glasses. She was accompanied at the event by her husband, Richard Burke.<\/p>\n
Cusack, who won an Emmy Award for her work in \u201cShameless\u201d in 2015, has kept a relatively low profile in recent years. She last appeared onscreen in three episodes of the TV series \u201cHomecoming\u201d in 2020. Her last film appearance onscreen in a movie was 2019\u2019s \u201cLet It Snow.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jessie takes center stage in \u201cToy Story 5,\u201d which hits theaters June 19. In it, Jessie is focused on helping 8-year-old Bonnie find new friends.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is Jessie\u2019s story,\u201d she\u00a0told Britain\u2019s Virgin Radio UK<\/a>\u00a0on May 28 in a joint interview with co-star Tim Allen. \u201cIt\u2019s glorious.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis woman comes through,\u201d Allen said.<\/p>\n Cusack, 63, had long been one of Hollywood\u2019s most bankable supporting comedy actors, securing Oscar nods for \u201cIn & Out\u201d and \u201cWorking Girl.\u201d<\/p>\n She\u2019s also worked extensively with her brother, John Cusack, appearing alongside him in films like \u201cSixteen Candles,\u201d \u201cSay Anything,\u201d \u201cHigh Fidelity\u201d and \u201cGrosse Pointe Blank.\u201d In addition, she\u2019s had roles in \u201cSchool of Rock,\u201d \u201cBroadcast News,\u201d \u201cAddams Family Values\u201d and \u201cRunaway Bride,\u201d as well as headlining her own short-lived sitcom, \u201cWhat About Joan?\u201d<\/p>\n Her brother has said his sister always adds to his films.<\/p>\n \u201cShe just comes on the set and, you know, like Wile E.
