Jay-Z<\/a> is back on the big stage, and he\u2019s debuting a new look to match. <\/p>\n

The New York rapper took a trip to Philadelphia to headline Saturday night at Roots Picnic, the Roots\u2019 annual festival. What\u2019s most noticeable, aside from this being his first proper performance in years, is his new Afro. <\/p>\n

Among the surprises includes an acapella freestyle where Jigga appears to take aim at some of his detractors with bars such as:
\u201cI ain\u2019t much for meetings no how, canceled the brunches, I remember the hunger pains\u2026the price of the bricks is going up, it\u2019s gonna cost a B to \u2018Say My Name\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

And, \u201cThe jig is up, I’m up 10, wrong chart champ, n***as looked up to Hov, I never looked up to them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The freestyle appears to be partially in response to Drake\u2019s disses across ICEMAN, notably the line, \u201cYou boys got big on my name, that\u2019s big enough\/ We know how you OGs rocking already my n***a, the jig is up,\u201d on \u201cJanice STFU.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hov also invited a slew of special guests, all from Philly, including Meek Mill to perform \u201cDreams and Nightmares.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jazmine Sullivan also performed two of her hits, \u201cNeed U Bad\u201d and \u201cLa-La-La,\u201d as well as the hook of \u201cFeelin\u2019 It.\u201d<\/p>\n

And of course State Property made an appearance to reunite with their labelhead to perform a medley, including \u201cRoc the Mic\u201d and \u201cGirls, Girls, Girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

The performance comes ahead of three sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium, the perfect hometown venue to commemorate a legend\u2019s career. <\/p>\n
