These are <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cinemablend.com\/news\/2552820\/robocop-vs-terminator-and-other-movie-crossovers-we-wish-happened\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"elm:link;elmt:article_link;slk:crossover battles;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;crossover battles&quot;}\" class=\"link \">crossover battles <\/a>that I don\u2019t really lose sleep over since these fights have already taken place and I know the outcomes. That said, these are all <em>fictional<\/em> characters, so there&#8217;s no real \u201caccuracy\u201d as to who would actually win since it all depends upon the writer. Ho hum.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">However, what <em>does<\/em> sometimes keep me up at night is whether a samurai or a Spartan would come out on top (Especially since <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cinemablend.com\/streaming-news\/the-best-samurai-movies-and-how-to-watch-them\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"elm:link;elmt:article_link;slk:I love samurai movies;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;I love samurai movies&quot;}\" class=\"link \">I love samurai movies<\/a>), or how about a pirate vs. a knight? George Washington&#8217;s army vs. Napoleon&#8217;s? Joan of Arc vs. William the Conqueror? These are the kinds of things that <em>shouldn\u2019t<\/em> be humming along in my brain at 2:00 in the morning, but sometimes do when I can\u2019t sleep.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Well, thankfully, <em>Deadliest Warrior<\/em> helped iron out these worries. It wasn\u2019t just all talk, either, as historical experts were brought in to decide which weapons, armor, and battle strategies would win out if these historical fighters actually battled to the death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Honestly, I miss this kind of \u201creality TV\u201d that you used to see in the early 2010s. For example, some things looked really good, while other things looked absolutely terrible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">This is especially true for television, where I feel like a lot of studios did what they could with the limited budgets they had (which is why so many DC CW shows relied <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/flash-amazingly-brought-reverse-flashs-013232394.html\" data-ylk=\"elm:link;elmt:article_link;slk:more on great storytelling;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;more on great storytelling&quot;}\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">more on great storytelling<\/a> than special effects). Well, <em>Deadliest Warrior <\/em>kind of ran into this issue as well when it came to the simulated battles, as the costumes, weapons, and settings definitely weren\u2019t fooling anybody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">That said, it still got the job done. The scenes in the lab were minimalistic at best, but once they showed the actual reenactments, there was a certain rugged charm that kind of managed to transport you to the scenario where these two unlikely warriors would duel to the death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Again, it definitely wasn\u2019t Disney+ levels of special effects, but it still worked for what it was, and that made all the difference.
