Linda Perry has some strong feelings about where Madonna<\/a> currently resides as an artist.<\/p>\n In a new installation of Consequence\u2019s series, Bucket List<\/em>, Perry said that she wants to help Madonna \u201cget back\u201d to her \u201cstrength\u201d by helping her write new music, rather than what Perry says Madonna\u2019s currently doing, which is chasing trends.<\/p>\n \u201cMadonna, call me when you’re ready to get back to your strength, all right?\u201d the singer-songwriter said.<\/p>\n \u201cShe’s turned me down so many times,\u201d Perry continued. \u201cWhen Madonna’s ready to retire, she should make that album with me because I’ll make her such a great album. Because right now, one of the biggest problems I’m having with Madonna, she is one of the greatest. She is out there in front of everyone, leading the path, telling people what to do and how to just be ballsy and get out there and kick people in the ass.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Perry thinks Madonna has changed and is now a \u201cfollower.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe’s following the trends<\/a>. She’s trying to compete with Charli XCX<\/a> and this and that, everything about her seems weak to me and not powerful. So I would love to get that woman in a studio, slap her in the face a couple of times, and say, \u2018Wake up, get back to who Madonna is and what you represent.
