\n\tIt\u2019s a Toy Story<\/em>, and Taylor Swift<\/a> said yes. It\u2019s official, the pop superstar is set to appear on the Toy Story 5<\/a> soundtrack<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter much speculation \u2014 along with a suspicious countdown on the singer\u2019s website and billboards around several cities around the world \u2014 Disney and Pixar have confirmed that Swift is releasing a new original song \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You\u201d for the film. The song, her first release since her record-breaking The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>, is set to drop this Friday (June 5) ahead of the film\u2019s June 19 release, the film studio announced Monday. <\/p>\n

\n\tSwift reunites with her frequent collaborator and prolific producer Jack Antonoff for the single, which is \u201cinspired by the rootin\u2019 tootin\u2019 cowgirl Jessie\u2019s ongoing journey in Toy Story 5<\/a><\/em> <\/a>that began back in Toy Story 2<\/em>,\u201d according to a release. The song has been described as a return to Swift\u2019s country roots.<\/p>\n

\n\tSwift of course isn\u2019t the first major musician to record a new song for a Toy Story <\/em>soundtrack. Sarah McLachlan sang the heartbreaking \u201cWhen She Loved Me\u201d for Toy Story 2, <\/em>while Chris Stapleton recorded \u201cThe Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy\u201d in Toy Story 4.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tSwift and Toy Story fans alike will be able to purchase physical copies. Presales began today on Swfit\u2019s website for three exclusive CD editions that feature the single, an acoustic version of the song and a special piano version. <\/p>\n
