Despite being all smiles out in public together, tensions seem to be rising between Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster<\/a> behind closed doors. Foster has found herself caught in the public aftermath of Jackman\u2019s divorce from his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness<\/a>, and sources are telling Woman\u2019s Day<\/a> <\/em>that the Broadway star is struggling with ongoing hostility from both fans and fellow celebrities.<\/p>\n

\u201cSutton tries to ignore it, but some of the trolls and criticism online get the better of her,\u201d a source revealed. \u201cShe struggles with being branded a \u2018homewrecker,\u2019 so does Hugh, but this is a whole new world for Sutton. Everyone shared the commonality of loneliness.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the event, Foster also alluded to the messy situation with Jackman\u2019s ex-wife, stressing the importance of women supporting one another. As she explained, \u201cWomen of power can actually support each other, and we don\u2019t have to be pitted against each other. There\u2019s room for more than just one of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sources claim that, through Jackman\u2019s decades-long marriage to Deb, she protected him from negativity, particularly \u201ccriticism, confrontation, and emotional fallout.\u201d And now, the Greatest Showman <\/em>star is allegedly hoping Foster will fill that role, but she has no desire to do so.<\/p>\n

\u201cSutton is ambitious, independent, and emotionally intelligent,\u201d a source explained. \u201cShe didn\u2019t sign up to become Hugh\u2019s full-time emotional support system. The deeper this relationship gets, the more she feels responsible for managing his feelings, his image, and the chaos surrounding him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another noted, \u201cHugh desperately needs everyone to love him. He avoids uncomfortable situations at all costs and expects Sutton to absorb the emotional fallout so he can remain the nice guy.\u201d<\/p>\n
