Buckingham Palace previously received information about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s alleged wrongdoings, one Jeffrey Epstein victim claims.<\/p>\n

The Lord Chamberlain \u2014 the most senior officer of the royal household \u2014 allegedly received 30,000 emails in 2020, some of which include evidence that Andrew, now 66, shared confidential information with the convicted sex offender while acting as a U.K. trade envoy from 2001 to 2011. A recent BBC report<\/a> claims that the emails were taken from a personal business contact of the disgraced royal family member.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince there is an ongoing police enquiry concerning Mr Mountbatten-Windsor, it is not possible to provide any comment on these matters,\u201d Buckingham Palace told the BBC over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Former dancer Jess Michaels<\/strong>, who was allegedly sexually assaulted by Epstein, discussed the allegations against the palace in a statement to The Telegraph.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cSix years ago, the palace knew Andrew wasn\u2019t just a problem: he could face a criminal investigation. And they sat on it,\u201d she alleged. \u201cVirginia Giuffre was telling the truth, and she didn\u2019t live to see them admit it. That breaks my heart, and it should break everyone\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAndrew Mountbatten-Windsor\u2019s risky decision to grant a single TV interview about his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein proved to be a disastrous PR blunder. The U.K.\u2019s Thames Valley Police confirmed on February 19, 2026, that it had \u201carrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office\u201d in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Andrew was previously accused of sexually assaulting the late Virginia Giuffre<\/strong> when she was underage. They settled outside of court in 2022 after Giuffree sued Andrew for sexual abuse. He has continued to deny the allegations. (Giuffre died by suicide<\/a> in April 2025.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is what institutions do,\u201d Michaels added. \u201cThey protect powerful men and leave the people they harmed to carry it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrew was arrested at his Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, this past February. The Thames Valley Police confirmed that he was taken into custody<\/a> on \u201csuspicion of misconduct in public office.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,\u201d King Charles III<\/strong> said in a statement, obtained by Us Weekly, at the time. \u201cWhat now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities. In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to the arrest, the police department confirmed to the BBC that they had been looking into allegations that Andrew had shared information with late billionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein<\/strong> during his tenure as U.K. trade envoy.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAndrew Mountbatten-Windsor\u2019s downfall as a working royal is unquestionably intertwined with his connection to the late disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. While Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied any wrongdoing, he was accused by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre (n\u00e9e Roberts) of sexually assaulting her three times when she was 17 years old. Last month, the Thames Valley Police confirmed that the investigation against Andrew had expanded to include allegations of sexual misconduct.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition to the investigation into misconduct in public office, the assessment of reports that a woman was taken to an address in Windsor in 2010 for sexual purposes is ongoing,\u201d the police department said in a statement released on May 22.<\/p>\n

Thames Valley Police confirmed that they had \u201cengaged with the woman\u2019s legal representative\u201d as the statement continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cShould she wish to report this to police, it will be taken seriously and handled with care, sensitivity and respect for her privacy and her right for anonymity,\u201d the authorities added. \u201cWe recognize how difficult it can be to speak about experiences of this nature, and any contact with police will be led by her wishes, when and if she feels ready and able to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement noted that the Thames Valley Police is working with U.K.\u2019s Crown Prosecution Service and the United States Department of Justice. Authorities said they are \u201cexamining a number of aspects of alleged misconduct\u201d which had been stated in the Epstein Files.<\/p>\n
