Later this month, Disney will be releasing the next instalment in the iconic Pixar franchise, \u201cToy Story\u201d, in cinemas around the world, and today, Disney has announced that the movie will feature a brand new song from the 14 Grammy Award-winning artist, Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n

The toys are back in Disney and Pixar\u2019s \u201cToy Story 5,\u201d and this time it\u2019s Toy meets Tech. Woody (voice of Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (voice of Tim Allen), Jessie (voice of Joan Cusack) and the rest of the gang\u2019s jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad (voice of Greta Lee), a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie. Will playtime ever be the same?<\/p>\n

The new original song, \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You,\u201d was\u00a0written and produced by Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff.\u00a0 It will be released wherever music is streamed and purchased on Friday, 5th June 5 2026. The single will be featured on the \u201cToy Story 5\u201d soundtrack when it releases on digital platforms on June 19th 2026<\/p>\n

Inspired by the rootin\u2019 tootin\u2019 cowgirl Jessie\u2019s ongoing journey in \u201cToy Story 5\u201d that began back in \u201cToy Story 2,\u201d \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You\u201d also marks a return to Taylor Swift\u2019s country roots, blending styles that have defined her record-breaking career as a songwriter and artist.<\/p>\n

\u201cToy Story 5\u201d director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton said in a statement regarding the new song:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s incredible just how meaningful it\u2019s been having Taylor write and perform this song. Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable. Over the weekend, Disney began teasing the announcement with a series of \u201cTS\u201d billboards, a play on \u201cToy Story\u201d and Taylor Swift\u2019s shared initials, that appeared in LA, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Toronto, Mexico City, and London.<\/p>\n

Pre-sales begin today on Taylor Swift\u2019s website for three exclusive CD editions that feature the new single as it appears in the film, a special acoustic version, and a special piano version, all with unique vocals and production.<\/p>\n
