In fact, the Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a> host revealed he’s actually ready been thinking about ending his late-night talk show for years now.<\/p>\n

“Six years ago,” Kimmel told Vulture<\/a> in an interview published June 1, “I told them I thought I was done when [Joe<\/strong>] Biden<\/strong> was president.”<\/p>\n

The 58-year-old admitted he feels increasingly disillusioned about his late-night future in the wake of CBS’ cancellation of The Late Show hosted by Stephen Colbert<\/a><\/strong> (Colbert said his final “goodnight”<\/a> to viewers on May 21).<\/p>\n

“I feel a little bit defeated by it,” he lamented. “In a lot of ways, I feel like I\u2019m looking at my own future.”<\/p>\n

Of course, Kimmel is no stranger to controversy. His show was temporarily suspended<\/a> last September over comments made about Charlie Kirk<\/strong>\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the period of uncertainty, he shared, “One of the things we talked about when I first got suspended was that I can\u2019t do this show if I\u2019m going to be micromanaged.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
