\u201cThe Four Seasons<\/a>\u201d is back for Season 2 on Netflix<\/a>, and it has arrived just in time. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Who doesn\u2019t need a little escape with your hilarious besties right about now? <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Thankfully, the Netflix series, adapted from Alan Alda\u2019s 1981 film of the same name, is a delightful romp starring Tina Fey, Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Marco Calvani and Erika Henningseni that\u2019ll keep you laughing on your couch. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In Season 2, the gang\u2019s back together \u2014 season after season at new vacation locales \u2014 grieving the loss of their friend, forming new bonds and, of course, getting caught up in some hysterical hijinks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

To celebrate the return of one of celebrity.land\u2019s favorite shows of 2025<\/a>, Njera Perkins and I chatted about why this remake works, why Colman Domingo needs to keep the comedic roles coming and a proposal for a spinoff featuring two of Netflix\u2019s most captivating stars.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What We Loved About Season 2<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

I love that we got another breezy, bingeable season with this funny group of characters. Season 2 picks up with the aftermath of Ginny\u2019s (Erika Henningsen) pregnancy news, with everyone still mourning Nick\u2019s (Steve Carell) death. They, of course, turn something as simple as sprinkling his ashes on a mountaintop into pure shenanigans, but this is what I enjoy most about this show. It manages to squeeze ridiculous moments of comedy out of what could be mundane storylines. Like Jack (Will Forte) getting fed up during the Thanksgiving episode and kicking the turkey off the porch \u2014 I literally screamed. I took my time watching this season this time because I knew if I let myself, I\u2019d watch it all in one sitting. It\u2019s just that entertaining. \u2014 Njera<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I waited for as long as possible to start the season because I knew I\u2019d sit and watch it in one sitting. Breezy is the perfect word to describe it. It\u2019s also just downright hilarious in some moments. The cast works together really well. I\u2019m obsessed with the chemistry between Tina Fey and Colman Domingo. Domingo, once again, gets some of the funniest lines \u2014 I love when a character says something in a situation that I would say. It\u2019s so natural which is part of what makes the show so great. Kerri Kenney-Silver was great once again, and she has some really good physical comedy moments that had me cracking up. (The AeroBed and the dumbbells? Incredible.) By the end of the season, I felt like I\u2019d caught up with some old friends and was just very satisfied with all their updates. \u2014 Erin<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Again, still not over the turkey moment. I feel like Will Forte\u2019s comedy on the show might be a little underrated. But the funniest, most memorable moment for me this season is probably in Episode 8, when Danny\u2019s (Colman Domingo) mom is in the hospital, and his Aunt Pam shows up. His face immediately drops when he spots her, and Claude (Marco Calvani) looks shocked, too, when he sees her on FaceTime. He says, \u201cOh, my God. She\u2019s shrunk like a sweater in the dryer.\u201d I. cackled. So loud. An even funnier moment comes later on when Aunt Pam is sitting underneath one of those automatic soap machines and sits up, and it squirts some onto her head. No surprise that any scenes involving Colman Domingo leave me laughing. \u2014 Njera<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

You\u2019re right about Forte. The turkey scene was very funny, and I feel like this season I loved his character so much more than in Season 1. My God, that Aunt Pam scene was just too good. Like, I was howling! But my favorite line is, naturally, from Domingo. Kate (Fey) gets high after vaping, and she says something about centrifugal force. Danny says, \u201cBitch gets high once and thinks she works at NASA!\u201d Such a good line. \u2014 Erin<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Considering \u201cThe Four Seasons\u201d doesn\u2019t have the original film to use as material anymore, it\u2019s pretty impressive that the show managed to churn out another hilarious season. I credit a lot of that to the cast being such great comedic actors and the writing being genuinely funny. Nothing feels too corny or forced. The episodes didn\u2019t drag. And the vacation concept gives them room to switch the story up so it doesn\u2019t grow stale. Granted, I don\u2019t feel like it can go on forever, but this isn\u2019t a bad reboot for two seasons. \u2014 Njera<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Give us more 30-minute comedies, Netflix! I want to be entertained for just a bit and then go on about my business. Not everything needs to be 45 minutes or an hour. \u2014 Erin<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We Need More Comedy From Colman Domingo<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

I would like to start the petition to get Colman Domingo to star in more comedies. He\u2019s gotten his flowers for all the dramas he\u2019s stood out in over the years, from \u201cEuphoria\u201d and \u201cRustin\u201d to \u201cSing Sing\u201d and more. But the man is hilarious. Flat-out hysterical in this show. I mean, I\u2019m not surprised, given that he used to work on \u201cThe Big Gay Sketch Show.\u201d Hollywood, get this man back to his roots and put him in more comedies. Please and thank you. \u2014 Njera<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A Proposal For A Netflix Spinoff<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

Anne\u2019s character has some of the best storylines in Seasons 1 and 2, and I just love how Kerri Kenney-Silver portrays her. In Season 2, she gets to have quite a bit of fun, especially in the second half. The final episode, where they end up in Italy, made me think of something. She reminds me of another beloved character on Netflix: Sylvie Grateau (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) from \u201cEmily in Paris.\u201d They\u2019re both single, older women, and I\u2019d love to see them gallivanting around town looking for hot men and having a good ol\u2019 time. Now that we know \u201cEmily in Paris\u201d is ending its run, Netflix, give us a three-episode limited series or a fun, little movie featuring Anne and Sylvie! \u2014 <\/span>Erin<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Now this sounds like my kind of TV. I\u2019d watch it! \u2014 <\/span>Njera<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Should There Be A Season 3?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

Honestly, I could take another five seasons of this show. However, I don\u2019t think Season 2 ended on as big of a cliffhanger as Season 1. If \u201cFour Seasons\u201d keeps its writing staff together, I\u2019m sure they could come up with something fun for us to watch at least one more time. We need the laughs, so keep \u2019em coming, Netflix. \u2014 <\/span>Erin<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I\u2019d love for the show to come back for another season. But I agree, it feels like the writers ended the finale on a quieter note in case Netflix didn\u2019t hand them a renewal. Still, I\u2019d be curious to see where they take the crew next. Another Italian vacation? Adventures with Anne? I\u2019ll watch whatever as long as Danny comes back. \u2014 <\/span>Njera<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
