Donald Trump<\/a> could still end up helping to doom Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s late-night show, the comedian admitted in a candid new interview with Vulture<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kimmel said in the lengthy profile published Monday that he believes there\u2019s still a chance the president could jump on one of his on-air jokes and use it to pressure ABC into canceling the long-running program.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The president has long targeted Kimmel and frequently amplified right-wing outrage over the host\u2019s jokes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Most recently, Trump weighed in when Kimmel was temporarily suspended for his remarks<\/a> following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, and his later quip about \u201cexpectant widow<\/a>\u201d Melania Trump<\/a>, the first lady.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In both of those cases, Kimmel told Vulture: \u201cI had the truth on my side as a defense.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

But he asked: \u201cWhat if I actually do<\/em> do something wrong?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Then he added with a laugh, \u201cI mean, that\u2019s inevitable.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kimmel, whose contract runs out<\/a> in May 2027, also opened up about the end of \u201cThe Late Show,\u201d hosted by his friend Stephen Colbert.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI feel a little bit defeated by it,\u201d he said. \u201cIn a lot of ways, I feel like I\u2019m looking at my own future.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kimmel added of late-night shows in general, which are routinely targeted by Trump and members of his MAGA movement for their criticism of the president and his administration, \u201cWe\u2019re not just dying of natural causes. We\u2019re being poisoned.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
