Welsh actor Owain Rhys Davies, best known for his appearances in TV series \u201cThe OA\u201d and \u201cTwin Peaks: The Return,\u201d has died, his family announced<\/a> Sunday. <\/p>\n Davies\u2019 brother Rhodri Davies and their father Conway Davies said in an Instagram tribute<\/a> that \u201cthere are still questions that remain unanswered\u201d regarding the actor\u2019s death, but that the family understands he \u201cpassed suddenly, naturally, and peacefully.\u201d Owain Rhys Davies was 44. <\/p>\n \u201cThe reach of Owain\u2019s love, friendship, and generosity was vast,\u201d his family wrote on Instagram. The tribute also honored the actor\u2019s community of friends, colleagues and loved ones and expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support.<\/p>\n The statement continued: \u201cI am incredibly proud that, while he was my brother, he was also a brother to so many others. We know that this loss will be felt by a great many people, and we take comfort in knowing how loved he was.\u201d<\/p>\n Davies\u2019 screen career began in the early 2000s and most notably includes roles in the 2016 film \u201cAlice Through the Looking Glass\u201d starring Mia Wasikowska and Johnny Depp, Showtime\u2019s \u201cTwin Peaks: The Return\u201d and Netflix\u2019s \u201cThe OA.\u201d In \u201cTwin Peaks: The Return,\u201d Showtime\u2019s revival of the classic David Lynch series, Davies appeared in three episodes as FBI Agent Wilson. <\/p>\n In 2017, Davies called his experience on \u201cTwin Peaks\u201d \u201ca wondrously beautiful thrill ride\u201d and wrote about his time working with \u201clegend\u201d filmmaker Lynch. \u201cIf you ever need to call on me you know what to do….WILSON!!!!,\u201d he captioned<\/a> his photo with Lynch. When Lynch died several years later<\/a>, Davies wrote in a January 2025 post<\/a> that the director \u201cwas a visionary like no other who welcomed me into the fold.\u201d<\/p>\n The Cardiff-born actor was also a versatile theater actor who appeared in West End productions of \u201cMamma Mia!\u201d and \u201cThe Wizard of Oz,\u201d according to his website. <\/a> His theater credits also include productions of \u201cThe Lion King,\u201d \u201cSomething Rotten!,\u201d \u201cGrease\u201d and \u201cThe Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.\u201d In 2024, he led the raunchy musical \u201cGrindr Help Desk,\u201d starring as a drag queen <\/a>named Candice. His recent credits also include the film \u201cLa Fantasia\u201d<\/a> and the play \u201cThe Opera Singer,\u201d both written by collaborator Janna Ramos-Violante. <\/p>\n The actor\u2019s brother on Sunday asked social media followers for privacy and said the family will continue to \u201cshare further information in due course\u201d as they begin funeral arrangements. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
