The Scranton Brass Orchestra<\/a> will perform a \u201cpops\u201d concert on Sunday, June 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Houlihan-McLean Center at The University of Scranton. Admission is free. The performance is open to the public with doors opening at 6:50 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated\u00a0basis.<\/span><\/p>\n The program for the concert features\u00a0compositions,\u00a0arrangements\u00a0and transcriptions for brass band\/brass orchestra, including\u00a0pops\u00a0hits, Disney favorites and music for film.\u00a0<\/span>The evening\u2019s fare will\u00a0include\u00a0Malcolm Arnold\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Four Scottish Dances<\/span><\/i>, Turrin\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Overture for Brass<\/span><\/i>,\u00a0a number\u00a0of\u00a0Disney favorites,\u00a0the\u00a0theme from\u00a0<\/span>Bridge Over\u00a0The\u00a0River Kwai\u00a0<\/span><\/i>and\u00a0more.<\/span><\/p>\n The Scranton Brass Orchestra is under the direction of Cheryl Y. Boga and is presented by Performance Music at The University of Scranton. Co-founded by Dr. Hal\u00a0<\/span>Baillie and Mark Gould, the\u00a0<\/span>fully professional\u00a026-member\u00a0ensemble\u00a0comprised\u00a0of brass and percussion players\/teachers from the region\u00a0ensemble is\u00a0entering\u00a0its 14<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0season. The group’s performances are free of charge, open to the public and have often featured nationally and internationally acclaimed guests, including many of the most respected brass players of our time.
