Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway is leaving her studies in Sydney to return home to be with her mother, Crown Princess Mette-Marit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The Crown Prince announced last week that his wife, who was diagnosed with chronic pulmonary fibrosis in 2018, is \u201cseriously ill\u201d.<\/p>\n
In an English translation, Norwegian broadcaster NRK\u2019s reporting said that Ingrid Alexandra, who is second in line to the Norwegian throne, \u201cplans to come home soon. It has to do with the family situation. She wants to be with her mother.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to reports, the Princess plans to eventually return to Australia. However, the Crown Prince said that it\u2019s currently unknown how long she will stay home to be with her mother during her illness. <\/p>\n
Last week, Prince Haakon of Norway issued a concerning update about his wife\u2019s chronic lung condition.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Crown Princess is seriously ill and I think she has gotten a bit worse lately,\u201d Prince Haakon said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I am worried about her health. She uses oxygen in her everyday life and it helps a little but it is not a perfect solution.\u201d<\/p>\n
The royal family is managing several health challenges simultaneously. Queen Sonja, 88, was admitted to the National Hospital in Oslo last week after being diagnosed with heart failure and atrial fibrillation. The royal has since been discharged and has returned home.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer form is much better,\u201d King Harald said. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t good when I left. She was a little depressed then because she wasn\u2019t allowed to be here. That she wasn\u2019t able to do what she did before, but as far as I understand, she is much better than she was when I left. Now the medication is under control.\u201d<\/p>\n
It comes after reports emerged that a Sydney man will face court this week, accused of stalking the potential future queen of Norway.<\/p>\n
According to reports, a suspicious letter was sent to the Norwegian Princess that was intercepted by her security detail at St Andrew\u2019s College at Sydney University.<\/p>\n
A 63-year-old man has now been issued with an AVO and will appear in court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
