He was 75.<\/p>\n<p>His family said in a statement that Bryson died Tuesday evening, days after having a stroke.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing how deeply Peabo was loved and how many lives were touched by his voice and his generous spirit,\u201d the family&#8217;s statement said. \u201cHis legacy and music will live on for generations to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Internationally celebrated for his Disney classics, Bryson also built a career over five decades as one of R&amp;B\u2019s premier balladeers, recording hits including \u201cFeel the Fire,\u201d \u201cI\u2019m So Into You&#8221; and \u201cCan You Stop the Rain.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor more than five decades, Peabo\u2019s extraordinary voice served as the soundtrack to some of life\u2019s most cherished moments,\u201d the family&#8217;s statement said. \u201cHis music carried generations through joyful celebrations, great love stories and enduring moments of comfort and inspiration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Born and raised in South Carolina, the singer, songwriter and balladeer launched his career with the group Moses Dillard and the Tex-Town Display in the 1970s. Shortly afterward, Atlanta label Bang Records signed him as a solo artist.<\/p>\n<p>He recorded for Capitol, Elektra and Columbia Records and became one of music\u2019s most sought-after duet partners. Aside from Belle and Dion, he also collaborated with artists including Roberta Flack and Natalie Cole.<\/p>\n<p>His duet with Flack, \u201cTonight, I Celebrate My Love,\u201d became one of the defining love songs of the 1980s, while \u201cIf Ever You\u2019re in My Arms Again\u201d helped expand his audience beyond R&amp;B radio.
