Mastodon<\/a> have paid tribute to the late Brent Hinds\u00a0with a new single called \u2018Your Ghost Again\u2019 \u2013 listen below.<\/p>\n The blistering track marks the first song from the Atlanta heavy metal band since former guitarist Hinds died in a motorcycle accident last August, aged 51<\/a>. It also serves as the first preview of the group\u2019s as-yet-untitled next album, which will follow 2021\u2019s \u2018Hushed And Grim\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018Your Ghost Again\u2019 was written and recorded amid a difficult and chaotic time for Mastodon, and confronts the untimely death of Hinds and the passing of drummer Brann Dailor\u2019s mother.<\/p>\n Reflecting on the themes of loss and grief, Dailor explained: \u201cFor me, \u2018Your Ghost Again\u2019 is about when you lose somebody that\u2019s close to you that you existed with for most of your life \u2013 or your whole life.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s those moments when you\u2019re in those familiar places that you\u2019ve always been with that person, and then, after they\u2019re gone, you see them out of the corner of your eye, and it makes you sad because they\u2019re not there.\u201d<\/p>\n
