Joy-Anna Duggar <\/b><\/a>is opening up about the fallout<\/a> from brother Joseph Duggar<\/b><\/a>\u2019s arrest scandal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am getting through all of this. I feel like every day it\u2019s different, and I think that it\u2019s probably been the hardest time I\u2019ve ever gone through, honestly,\u201d Joy-Anna, 28, said on a recent episode of her sister Jinger Duggar<\/b>\u2019s eponymous podcast<\/span><\/a>. \u201cI think we\u2019re all grieving in different ways, but I think it just feels so heavy.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI definitely think as time goes on, certain things have gotten lighter, but I\u2019ve really been struggling, honestly. I think I\u2019ve had to lean on the Lord more than I ever have, which is a good thing. That\u2019s a positive thing, but \u2026 you can\u2019t plan for something like this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joseph, 31, was arrested on March 18 in Arkansas<\/a> for lewd and lascivious behavior after allegedly molesting a 9-year-old child in Florida in 2020. The victim, now 14, told police that Joseph \u201ceventually apologized for his actions\u201d at the time before \u201cthe incidents stopped.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJoy-Anna Duggar broke her silence after her brother Joseph Duggar\u2019s arrest. \u201cWhat has come out about my brother is heartbreaking and deeply disturbing,\u201d Joy-Anna, 28, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, March 26. \u201cMy heart is with the victim, and I am grieved by the pain and harm caused.\u201d She continued, \u201cI have been [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Two days later, news broke that Joseph was also facing four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, second degree, and four counts of second degree false imprisonment. Joseph\u2019s wife, Kendra Duggar<\/b>, was arrested for the same misdemeanor charges and released on bond within hours. (Joseph and Kendra, 27, have been married since 2017 and share four children.)<\/p>\n

Joseph was extradited to Florida later that month, where he pleaded not guilty to all charges before being released on a $600,000 bond.<\/p>\n

Many of Joseph\u2019s 18 siblings have spoken out<\/span><\/a> following his arrest.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat has come out about my brother is heartbreaking and deeply disturbing,\u201d Joy-Anna said in a March 28 statement <\/span><\/a>shared via social media. \u201cMy heart is with the victim, and I am grieved by the pain and harm caused. I have been a wreck this week and am taking time to process.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the months since Joseph\u2019s arrest, Joy-Anna acknowledged that it has still \u201cbeen hard\u201d to move forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been setting up Pillars of Praise, and it was actually a song I had found a couple days after all of this blew up,\u201d she said on Jinger\u2019s podcast. \u201cIt was talking about, in the valley of death, making it into a valley of worship. I think it was so fitting for everything that we\u2019ve been going because I tend to \u2026 jump into \u2018Everything\u2019s a mess and God, where are you and why is this happening?\u2019 I go to, like, the deep, deep end. I think God was just reminding me that even in the valley, the children of Israelites, they would go through something really hard and at the end God would say, \u2018Set up a pillar so you don\u2019t forget.\u2019 I haven\u2019t done that in the past a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
