It\u2019s not filling a hole. I just really love to do it. Garner, 53, got candid about her dynamic with Affleck, also 53, during an episode of Bustle\u2019s \u201cOne Nightstand\u201d YouTube series, shared on Tuesday, February 24. While discussing Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud \u2014 one of five books that \u201cshaped\u201d the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Despite taking a step back from the spotlight, Garner still accepted a few roles while raising her kids, including <em>Juno<\/em> and <em>The Kingdom<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Her kids also didn\u2019t let her off the hook so easily. Garner joked that they were \u201csuch bricks\u201d about her missing games and typical mom activities in school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo have this year and a half where I just indulged [in acting is a gift], because this job is very selfish,\u201d she said of her career. \u201cIt\u2019s all about your schedule. It\u2019s not about what the kids have going on at school. But that\u2019s part of life. Working hard is part of life, and messing up is part of life.
