<\/a>The Huntsville Music Office<\/a><\/strong> is excited to announce the return of Make Music Day Huntsville on Sunday, June 21, a community-driven celebration of music that invites everyone of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels to participate.<\/p>\n

Make Music Day Huntsville is part of the global Make Music Day initiative<\/a><\/strong>, held annually in more than 1,000 cities across 120 countries. This free, all-ages, all-inclusive event is hosted by the Huntsville Music Office and the Huntsville Hospital Music Therapy Program and is open to anyone who wants to participate.<\/p>\n

New registration process for 2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This year also introduces a new, simplified registration system for those wishing to host or perform. The updated process is designed to make participation easier, more accessible and more flexible for venues, businesses, community groups and individual musicians.<\/p>\n

And because Make Music Day falls on a Sunday this year, Huntsville is hoping for its biggest celebration yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cMake Music Day being on a Sunday this year will hopefully lend to more people having an opportunity to participate and really pack the schedule with free music performances throughout the community in celebration,\u201d Mandrella said. \u201cWe\u2019re inviting musicians, businesses, artists and neighborhoods to join in and help create a full day of sound across the city.\u201d<\/p>\n

All Make Music Day activities are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Venues and performers register by June 19<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The deadline to add your performances or ones you\u2019re hosting to the Make Music Day website\u2019s schedule of events is Friday, June 19.<\/p>\n

Huntsville Hospital launches \u2018Make Music Week\u2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Make Music Day Huntsville is also a platform to bring more awareness to the depth of work that music therapists provide for patients and families, including the many ways music can help reduce anxiety, manage stress, support coping and promote healing during hospitalization.<\/p>\n

The Huntsville Hospital Music Therapy Program will host a series of \u201cMake Music Week\u201d events across several hospital campuses leading up to Make Music Day.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year, our Music Therapy Program is proudly celebrating Make Music Day with a full week of music,\u201d said Mae McLaughlin, music therapist at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. \u201cFrom June 15-19, patients, families, visitors and staff can enjoy the healing sounds of community musicians in common areas throughout Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, and Madison Hospital.\u201d<\/p>\n

Additionally, Huntsville Hospital\u2019s Arts in Medicine Program partnered with the Cigar Box Guitar Store at Lowe Mill for an art exhibit and fundraiser.<\/p>\n

The guitars were displayed at Huntsville Hospital and Lowe Mill during the 22nd Annual Cigar Box Guitar Festival. A portion of the proceeds from the fundraiser was donated to the Huntsville Hospital Music Therapy Program.<\/p>\n

Although the fundraiser has ended, the Arts in Medicine Program has created a virtual tour of the CBGS Gallery Collection that can be viewed online through the Arts in Medicine webpage.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n
