Wrestling icon Mick Foley<\/a> has spilled on why Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s response to the killings of director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, led him to distance himself<\/a> from WWE<\/a> due to its relationship with the president.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cBelittling the man who just died, somehow tying it into Reiner\u2019s dislike of Donald Trump \u2014 for me, that was the ball-peen hammer tap that broke the windshield,\u201d said Foley on Tuesday\u2019s episode<\/a> of \u201cThe Ariel Helwani Show.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Foley \u2014 a Trump<\/a> critic<\/a> known for personas like Cactus Jack, Mankind and Dude Love during his WWE Hall of Fame career \u2014 declared that he wouldn\u2019t be making appearances for the company so long as Trump was in office, calling the president\u2019s reaction to the Reiners\u2019 killings as the \u201cfinal straw\u201d for him in a statement to social media<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cJust heartless, unbelievably cruel comments coming from the most powerful man in the world finding joy in how somebody died,\u201d said Foley of Trump in his interview with Helwani.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Foley pointed to WWE\u2019s \u201cvery cozy\u201d relationship with Trump, who was also inducted into its Hall of Fame<\/a>, and noted that several people associated with the company <\/span>surrounded the president<\/a> in the Oval Office last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Foley went on to note that, though he wasn\u2019t \u201ctechnically employed\u201d by WWE, his name had been associated with the company for three decades, and he had a \u201clegends deal\u201d (a contract for retired talent).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI felt like… I was complicit in my silence. So I did speak up,\u201d said Foley, who has decided not to renew the deal that expires at the end of June.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
