Moore said he saw Matt less than three weeks prior to discovering his body, and that the reality star was going through stressful situations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe couldn\u2019t get his pickup truck running, and that was part of his frustration on that day was the truck\u2019s not going to get running \u2014 he can\u2019t go on his trip,\u201d he told us.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>\u201cAlaskan Bush People\u201d star Matt Brown was dealing with his truck breaking down and a split from his girlfriend, Jamie, three weeks before his tragic death, a family friend told Page Six Thursday. <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/Matthew Brown<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Chay Moore \u2014 who aside from being a friend of the Brown family, was also part of the crew that found Brown\u2019s body \u2014 said that the reality star\u2019s breakup from Jamie was \u201cdefinitely on his mind\u201d the last time he saw him less than three weeks ago. Brown and Jamie are seen here in July 2024. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/mattbrown511<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201c[He] broke up with his girlfriend,\u201d he continued. \u201cAll of these things hit him at the same time on that day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Matt was dating a woman named Jamie prior to his death, and while Moore said he didn\u2019t know the exact time frame of their breakup, he said he knew \u201cit was definitely on his mind\u201d on the particular day he saw Matt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had been walking and riding buses and, you know, from town to town to, to survive,\u201d he also said of the hardships Matt was facing after his truck broke down. \u201cHe was using buses and stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moore said Jamie was instrumental in finding Matt\u2019s body.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMatt\u2019s girlfriend was really, really pushing us hard to get it moving and get out there on that water,\u201d he shared. \u201cI think she had a notion of where she thought he was, you know, in her mind, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Moore said Jamie was instrumental in finding Brown\u2019s body Saturday. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/abpmattbrown<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Brown\u2019s brother Bear Brown also said in a TikTok video last week that Matt was going through a breakup prior to his death. <span class=\"credit\">Instagram\/mattbrown511<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cShe basically spearheaded the searchers on that river,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In a TikTok video last week, Bear said that Matt <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/29\/celebrity-news\/alaskan-bush-people-alum-matt-brown-43-feared-dead-after-alarming-livestream\/\">was \u201cgoing through a really bad breakup\u201d <\/a>with \u201ca girl he really liked.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI guess he had been drinking too much. I don\u2019t know all the details to it,\u201d\u00a0he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that Matt \u201chas been struggling for a long time with alcohol and with drugs,\u201d but he insisted the family did not \u201cshun\u201d him. He\u2019s pictured here last month on YouTube. <span class=\"credit\">YouTube\/Matthew Brown<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Matt, seen here in February, was 43 years old. <span class=\"credit\">Matt Brown\/YouTube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In Bear\u2019s video over the weekend confirming Matt\u2019s death he shared, \u201cI didn\u2019t think he would hurt himself, it does look like the injury is self-inflicted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Matt and Bear\u2019s youngest brother, Noah, also confirmed that they found Matt\u2019s body in a river and said <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/05\/31\/celebrity-news\/alaskan-bush-people-star-noah-brown-emotionally-confirms-he-identified-brother-matts-body\/\">he was the one who identified him.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Brown family appeared on\u00a0Discovery Channel\u2019s \u201cAlaskan Bush People\u201d between 2014 and 2019.
