Former Alaskan Bush People<\/em> star Matt Brown<\/strong>\u2019s official cause of death has been revealed.<\/p>\n The Okanogan County Coroner\u2019s Office confirmed to Us Weekly<\/em> on Wednesday, June 3, that Brown died by suicide. His family has been notified of the findings.<\/p>\n Days after his death, the Coroner\u2019s Office shared new details<\/a> regarding the discovery of Brown\u2019s remains in a Washington state river on Saturday, May 30, confirming to Us<\/em>\u00a0that the deceased adult male recovered from a location south of Oroville, Washington, was indeed Brown following reports that he had gone missing.<\/p>\n Investigators discovered \u201can individual observed<\/a> floating face down in the river,\u201d per a press release. \u201cInitial efforts to confirm and retrieve the individual were unsuccessful due to fast-moving river conditions, and search operations continued over the following days.\u201d<\/p>\n The coroner performed an autopsy after his body was found. Matt\u2019s brother Noah Brown<\/strong> said he was the one to identify the person<\/a>. \u201cMy oldest brother, Matthew Brown, has passed away,\u201d he shared in a statement via Instagram.<\/p>\n Bear Brown<\/strong>, another brother and member of the reality TV family, referenced Matt\u2019s addiction struggles in a TikTok video. \u201cI would have never suspected he would have hurt himself, honestly,\u201d Bear, 38, said. \u201cHe struggled for a long time<\/a>, as I\u2019ve mentioned. And I was so worried he was going to end up like OD\u2019d or something like that. I didn\u2019t think that he would hurt himself.\u201d<\/p>\n He was preceded in death by his father, family patriarch Billy Brown<\/strong>, who died at 68 in 2021.
