Sarah Sherman appeared on Saturday Night Live’<\/em>s The Rundown<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n The comedian revealed that she once lied to ensure a sketch made it on air.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Season 48’s “Eyes” was blind faith from Sherman.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Sarah Sherman<\/a> really hopes that Lorne Michaels<\/a> doesn’t see this.<\/p>\n The Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a> star was the latest guest on the new short-form series The Rundown<\/em>, on which she discussed the “weird” sketches that are slotted in for the end of each SNL <\/em>episode. Sherman shared that she once lied to get such a sketch past Michaels and the team, confessing that she was essentially blind during season 48’s “Eyes.”<\/p>\n “The googly eyes, I couldn’t really see out of,” she admitted<\/a>. “I told everyone I could but they weren’t gonna let me do the sketch if I couldn’t see. There was a hole in the white part of the googly eye and a hole in the black part of the googly eye, so I could only see it when they lined up perfectly. But the whole joke of the sketch is that they’re moving around crazy.”<\/p>\n Sherman added, “So don’t tell Lorne I memorized so that I could pull the sketch off.”<\/p>\n In the sketch from October 2022, Sherman played Janine, a woman who is offended that no one noticed that she had her eyes replaced. The thing is, her officemates all realized the drastic change and thought it best to ignore. In retrospect, given her lack of sight, Sherman’s performance is even more impressive, considering the amount of movement required from her.<\/p>\n Sherman shared that she always thinks about the props and look of her character when writing for SNL<\/em>, but she has often found out through those very things that the sketch won’t be making it on the air.<\/p>\n “Many times I’ve been in [the final] slot, I have the wig on, I have the costume on, I’m waiting to see if it’s still in the show,” she said. “All of a sudden I just feel my hairdresser’s hands come onto my head to peel the wig right off. To me, the secret sauce was the so-called two losers in town. They live with their parents, they have no money, they have an AMC Pacer, and they’re by far the happiest people in the town.
