Royal weddings are typically a chance to see the complicated dynamics of the different members of the royalty. But when a family is in the middle of a feud, they can also be a place to draw some lines in the sand. For example, if you invite one person and not the other, it\u2019s clear where you stand. And that\u2019s what seems to be happening with the upcoming wedding of Peter Phillips<\/a>, Prince William<\/a> and Prince Harry<\/a>\u2019s cousin.<\/p>\n According to reports, Phillips<\/a> has left Harry off the guest list, and it\u2019s because his loyalties lie with Prince William<\/a>. Royal commentator Emily Nash told Page Six<\/a>, \u201cI think it comes down to interpersonal relationships, doesn\u2019t it?\u201d Nash explained. \u201cWhat we were told was that Peter hadn\u2019t spoken to Harry for the last few years. He\u2019s been a very good sounding board to his cousin over the years,\u201d Nash said. \u201cSo it absolutely makes sense that I think had both Wales brothers been there, it would have put a completely different slant on the whole event.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd that\u2019s not what you want on what should be the happiest day of your life, right?\u201d she added.<\/p>\n That much is true. You don\u2019t want to be thinking about keeping the peace during your wedding day. After all, Nash said that Phillips was the \u201cpeacemaker\u201d between his cousins during Prince Philip\u2019s funeral in 2021.<\/p>\n \u201cPeter was positioned between the two warring brothers,\u201d Nash said. \u201cHe was sort of put right in the middle of them as the older cousin, and that must have been a really difficult moment for him.\u201d<\/p>\n She added, \u201cOf course, a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then.\u201d<\/p>\n Nash even called the move \u201csmart,\u201d saying it would just have drawn too much attention. \u201cIf that had been the case, that would have become the absolute focal point for Peter and Harriet\u2019s special day, and there have been enough distractions, I think, from the good things about the royal family over the past year,\u201d Nash said. \u201cHopefully, they can just have this one day to come together and celebrate someone\u2019s happy news for a change.\u201d<\/p>\n Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton<\/a> are expected to attend the wedding, which will take place on June 6. King Charles is also expected to make an appearance.
