John Latchem<\/a><\/p>\n June 4, 2026<\/p>\n \t<\/p>\n Content distributor Radial Entertainment June 4 announced that production is underway on 20 new episodes of the true crime series \u201cThe FBI Files.\u201d Bright North Studios, backed by Jeff Zucker-led RedBird IMI, will produce the new episodes.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018The FBI Files\u2019 built its reputation on what true crime rarely gets right: grounded, case-driven storytelling that audiences have trusted for decades. As we bring the series back into production, we are committed to preserving the DNA and integrity that made the franchise endure,\u201d said Cristina Guggino, VP of originals and content partnerships at Radial Entertainment. \u201cIn Bright North Studios, we found a partner with deep expertise in FBI subject matter and a genuine respect for what this brand represents. That shared understanding is the foundation of this partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018The FBI Files\u2019 is a legendary title that commands the deepest respect from both law enforcement and viewers, and one that I\u2019ve personally admired for years. We\u2019re thrilled to bring our expertise in telling FBI stories to this relaunch and to partner with Radial in extending a franchise that set the standard for authentic, agent-driven storytelling,\u201d said Shawn Efran, CEO and founder of Bright North Studios.<\/p>\n The new season will be executive produced by Mary Bissell, Azadeh DeLeon and Efran for Bright North. Also working behind the scenes will be former \u201cThe FBI Files\u201d show runner Mark Marabella and former FBI special agent Anne Beagan (FBI advisor for The Wolf of Wall Street<\/em> and The Irishman<\/em>). Katie Carroll and Guggino will serve as executive producers for Radial.<\/p>\n The production order follows Radial\u2019s acquisition of the New Dominion Pictures catalog earlier this year,which added more than 600 hours of programming to the company\u2019s expansive library of more than 70,000 movies and TV episodes. The creation of new \u201cFBI Files\u201d episodes builds on Radial\u2019s strategy to pair owned library IP with original production and scaled global distribution via FAST and AVOD streaming services.<\/p>\n The New Dominion catalog\u00a0also included long-running investigative, true crime and paranormal franchises such as \u201cA Haunting,\u201d \u201cThe New Detectives,\u201d and 17 additional owned unscripted series spanning automotive (\u201cFantomWorks\u201d), rescue (\u201cCritical Rescue\u201d), international crime (\u201cInterpol Investigates\u201d), among other sub-genres.<\/p>\n \u201cRadial\u2019s acquisition of the New Dominion Pictures catalog gave us ownership of a deep portfolio of enduring unscripted franchises,\u201d said David Buoymaster, chief content officer and chief investment officer at Radial Entertainment. \u201cPutting \u201cThe FBI Files\u201d back into production reflects our broader strategy to invest in the IP we own, expand high-performing brands, and create new value across our global distribution ecosystem \u2014 and it\u2019s a start of how we plan to activate this catalog over time.\u201d<\/p>\n The first 10 new episodes of \u201cFBI Files\u201d are expected to be completed by Dec. 1 and are slated to premiere Feb. 1, 2027. The remaining 10 episodes are expected to be completed by March 1 to go live May 1. Produced in cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, \u201cThe FBI Files\u201d follows agents as they investigate the nation\u2019s most difficult and compelling cases. The series originally aired on the Discovery channel from 1998 to 2006, running for 120 episodes across seven seasons.<\/p>\n
