The app will serve up a mixture of trending videos and curated creator feeds around the tournament.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Users will be able to earn \u2018stars\u2019 by completing different tasks, and redeem them for benefits including World Cup merch and TikTok Shop vouchers. They will also be able to use their stars for charity donations.\n\n\n\n<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TikTok had already\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.tiktok.com\/tiktok-and-fifa-introduce-the-fifa-world-cup-2026-creator-correspondents?lang=en\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced a partnership with football body FIFA<\/a>\u00a0to recruit \u2018creator correspondents\u2019 for the World Cup \u2013 football-focused TikTokers from 11 countries who\u2019ll be embedded at the tournament. Their videos will be prominent in the new app.\n\n\n\n<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re most interested in what happens next if this pilot is a success. Which musical events might count as \u2018major cultural milestones\u2019 to get the Pro Events treatment?\n\n\n\n\n<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">High-profile awards ceremonies perhaps \u2013 the Grammys most obviously.
