It\u2019s been a while since former Prince Andrew<\/a> has been seen in public, but he made a rare public outing in early June 2026\u2014and he didn\u2019t look so good.<\/p>\n

In a photo published by Us Weekly<\/a> <\/em>on Thursday, June 4, Andrew was seen getting into a car. As he turned toward the camera, a large purple bruise was visible on the right side of his face, covering much of his cheek and undereye.<\/p>\n

According to The Times<\/a><\/em>, the ex-prince\u2019s bruised face is believed to be the result of a \u201cnon-serious medical condition.\u201d<\/p>\n

A source with direct knowledge later told The Telegraph<\/a><\/em> that there\u2019s no cause for concern and \u201cno drama\u201d\u2014meaning no accident or attack\u2014was responsible for Andrew\u2019s bruise.<\/p>\n

Several doctors also spoke with the Daily Mail<\/a> <\/em>and explained that people taking blood thinners are especially prone to bruises like Andrew\u2019s, and that even \u201cminor knocks can turn into something that looks nasty.\u201d<\/p>\n

They also suggested that it could be the result of facial surgery, or, in some cases, from being \u201cpunched in the face.\u201d<\/p>\n

This rare appearance follows reports that Prince William was allegedly concerned about the former Duke of York\u2019s health. In January 2026, The Times<\/a> <\/em>noted that William has more sympathy for Andrew than some might think.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the whole sorry saga, William was often painted as the tough guy urging his father to put his foot down. This image of ruthless William was, I\u2019m told, wide of the mark,\u201d the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

They continued, \u201cIf anything, William was deeply concerned for his uncle\u2019s mental health and how Andrew would cope after everything was taken away. Nevertheless, William realised that while Andrew had always denied any wrongdoing, he supported his father\u2019s decision to strip Andrew of his royal titles. Kate, in turn, supported her husband in the matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrew has been flying under the radar ever since King Charles stripped him of his royal titles in October 2025 due to his years-long friendship with the late convicted sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein. <\/p>\n

In February 2026, Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office after allegations surfaced that he shared top-secret information with Epstein. By May 2026, he was also being investigated for sexual misconduct<\/a>. Andrew has continuously denied these claims.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
